On the melting behaviour of linear polyethylene single crystals in mixtures with homogeneous short chain branched polyolefins

The melting temperature depression of linear polyethylene lozenge single crystals is thoroughly examined in mixtures with a series homogeneous high molecular weight branched models, special emphasis on the effect short chain branching compatibility. results indicate that lamellar influenced both by content surrounding matrix and relative volume concentration two polymers mixture. discussion conducted around compatibility polymeric species as function content, invoking experimental computational work performed other authors. observed indicates mixing at point may occur whenever lower than 6–7 every 100 carbon atoms, result reconciled computer simulations approaches. • Melting reduced matrix. degree depends content.
